A Thriller From The Best Selling Author of 'Straw Men'.

Jack Whalen was a patrol cop for the LAPD but left after a dark cloud.  No devoid of purpose, Whalen isn’t sure of anything in his life anymore other than the fact that he loves his wife more than life itself.  When she goes missing on a trip to Seattle, his world is completely destroyed.  All of a sudden a childhood friend, now a prestigious lawyer, phones him with a problem.  The will left by a client seems to be linked to some unexplained slayings.  Are the two things linked?

A Taut Thriller

In the already crowded crime novel world, another such novel may be seen as over kill. Yet Marshall’s novel is a breath of fresh air.

Not just a straight forward or bog standard crime novel, it adds so many different themes. There’s a complicated mystery like in Dan Browns novels, a supernatural element like in Stephen King’s novels and much more.

Marshall’s writing is done at a quick pace and never lets up until the twist at the end. While some of the revelations during the story are telegraphed slightly, they all add up to a very good ending.

All in all a good addition to crime novel fans collections.
