A very strange and surreal horror comedy accentuated by an absolutely amazing performance by Billy Connolly as Fido. He manages to be incredibly sympathetic while not saying very much and using mostly facial expressions. It’s both touching and painfully funny.
The vivid colors used in this movie would sometimes struggle in the transfer, however I honestly can’t fault the transfer.
Also the sound quality is second to none. The loud parts don’t overload the senses and the quiet parts are so clear that you could hear a pin drop.
For a movie as enjoyable as this, I suppose I was expecting a little bit more in the way of extras. The ones that are there are good, just a little unfulfilling.
A horror comedy in the same vein as ‘Shaun of the Dead’ in some ways but having it set in a 1950’s style world adds a brilliantly surreal quality to it. Definitely one worth picking up for both comedy fans and zombie movie fans.
