The fate of every warm-blooded, freedom-loving mammal in the Aniverse is in the paws of the crew of the United Animal Space Frigate, lead by the brave Captain Bucky O'Hare.

Will Du Witt is also there to help but he doesn't have paws.  Instead he's a human child lost in the Aniverse.  Helping to fight the evil threat of the Toad Menace will not only ensure the safety of the Aniverse itself but hopefully also find a way to get Willy back home.

Let's Croak Some Toads!

Bucky O'Hare, to me, will always be an under rated gem of a television show yet for some reason it never caught hold of the public's imagination the same way as other shows such as He-Man, Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles and others did. For me that is a gigantic shame.

The stories here manage to both be exciting and action packed while still be funny and touching in places. The characters all have completely separate personalities and in somewhat of a rarity for animation from this period, non of the stories are duplicated. That's mainly down to the strength of the writing. While I'll freely admit that there are a couple of lines that make the viewer groan, mostly it's a fun ride for all of those watching.

The voice acting is very good as well, my favorite being the late Long John Baldry as KOMPLEX, who also in a geeky bit of connecting information, went on to voice Dr Robotnik in Sonic.

The transfer for the show is very good sound wise but the picture quality does suffer in places either becoming blurry but only in a slight way. It doesn't happen very much in the set but I've still marked it down slightly for that.

The special features are quite bare but manage to be fun. The character profiles, while not brilliantly written, are a fun little addition.

However it's the scripts that really bring the mark up for me and really bring out the inner child in me. I couldn't help myself but read them in my head as the character voices.

I would definitely recommend this set for both the children in the family and for the inner child inside of all of us.
