An absolute treat…this is Apatow’s smartest,
rudest and — yes — funniest film yet – Empire
…the director can rest easy, it’s another hit. – GQ
Sandler gives his finest performance – Daily Star

RELEASED ON DVD & BLU-RAY 18 JANUARY BY UNIVERSAL PICTURES HOME ENTERTAINMENT

Director Judd Aptow (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up) returns in fine form as he directs his third huge hit FUNNY PEOPLE, released onto 2 disc DVD & 2 disc Blu-ray on 18 January by Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. With 3 hours of bonus material included on the DVD and Blu-ray, fans will not be disappointed as they can enjoy more laughs than ever before.

With an A-list comedy cast including; Adam Sandler (You Don’t Mess with the Zohan, Anger Management), Seth Rogan (Knocked Up, Pineapple Express) and Jonah Hill (Superbad, Knocked Up), FUNNY PEOPLE steps into the lives of stand-up comedians and will provide all the laughs this New Year.

Joining the cast that reunites the comedic duo of Apatow and Rogen, are Leslie Mann (Knocked Up, The 40-Year-Old Virgin), Eric Bana (Munich, Star Trek) and Jason Schwartzman (Rushmore, The Darjeeling Limited). In the same vein as Apatow’s other hysterical movies, Funny People goes straight for the comedic jugular.

George Simmons (Sandler) is a successful, yet self-involved stand-up comedian and his world is turned upside down when it’s revealed he has an incurable blood disorder and less than a year to live. Meanwhile Ira Wright (Rogan) is a struggling up-and-coming comedian. An unlikely friendship ensues between the two funny men when George watches Ira’s performance, and hires him as his opening act. Forming a close bond these two men help each other as George teaches Ira how to win the crowd and Ira helps the dying George find closure in his legacy.

Things however turn around when George learns his disease has gone into remission. So when an old flame (Leslie Mann) re-enters his life, his recent near death experience inspires him to re-evaluate what is important to him and what truly gives meaning to his life.

Apatow finds humor in one of the biggest struggles of a person’s lifetime and addresses the question, if you had a second chance would you be the same jerk you always were? With bags of confidence, superb comedy timing and an array of quality jokes, FUNNY PEOPLE stands up amongst the crowd; making it the perfect DVD & Blu-ray to beat the post Christmas blues!
