30rock-dvd

Rejoin Tina Fey (Baby Mama, Mean Girls), Alec Baldwin (Beetlejuice, The Hunt For Red October) and Jane Krakowski (Ally McBeal) and get set to laugh your head off as 30 ROCK: SEASON 3 comes to DVD on 8th March 2010. It was this 22-episode season which earned 22 Emmy ® nominations - the most ever for a TV comedy.

30 Rock is a parody sit-com that revolves around a fictional comedy variety show called The Girlie Show (TGS) with Tracy Jordan, set in New York at ‘30 Rockefeller Plaza’. The show’s main writer, Liz Lemon, is played by Tina Fey, her boss, executive Jack Donaghy, is played by Alec Baldwin, and various TGS cast members include famous comedian Tracy Jordan, played by Tracy Morgan, and Jenna Maroney, played by Jane Krakowski.

As we hit Season 3 the main storylines have migrated from the sketch show, TGS with Tracey Morgan, to the characters’ personal lives, mainly Liz’s and Jack’s. However, this doesn’t put a halt to some amazing star appearances from Jon Hamm (Mad Men), who plays Liz’s boyfriend Drew, while Salma Hayek (Ugly Betty) plays Jack’s love interest Elisa in six episodes. Other guest stars include Jennifer Aniston, Oprah Winfrey, Megan Mullally, Milton Greene, Carrie Fisher, Elaine Stritch, Steve Buscemi and Steve Martin. If this isn’t enough for one season, the finale episode features multiple musical guests including Norah Jones, Steve Earle, Clay Aiken, Beastie Boys, Mary J. Blige, Elvis Costello, Sheryl Crow, Cyndi Lauper, Adam Levine, Sara Bareilles and Rachael Yamagata, performing an organ donation drive spoof appropriately titled ‘Kidney Now’.

With extremely strong writing and a bevy of inspired celebrity cameos, this witty look at an alternate-reality SNL gains laugh out loud momentum during its third season, and it’s critical acclaim and mass popularity proves Tina Fey’s comedic TV exposé still tickles the funny bone!
